But if a pristine roof is desired, then we remove moss and grime with a high-pressure hose or in some cases with a scraper and brush. Roof cleaning has become more popular in recent years as moss growth on the rise in the UK. This is caused partly by positive improvements in air quality as less chemicals such as lead in the air which allow moss and lichen to build up – environmentally desirable of course, but cosmetically less appealing.
